Our Carriage House: Your Bridal Suite

Brides have the full and exclusive use of the Carriage House as their bridal suite. In addition to a dressing room that boasts several full-length mirrors and two hair & makeup stations (complete with wall-length vanity and salon chairs), our 1200 sq. ft. bridal suite features a living room, full bath, kitchen, patio and gas fire pit on the front lawn. And yes, it is air-conditioned.. 

The Groom's Den

Grooms can prepare and unwind in the Groom's Den, a grooming stable converted into the groomsmen's lounge, featuring a half-bath, bar, dartboard, flat screen TV, refrigerator, and walkout to a private back patio with comfortable seating and a wood-burning fire pit.

Our Ceremony Space

We focus your wedding ceremony around an exposed wood post-and-beam arbor and can seat up to 200 guests on white vinyl padded seats. You can customize the decorating around the arbor, as well as the length and width of the wedding aisle to best suit your choice of gown, veil, and even couples walking side-by-side. (We also have an indoor arbor and ceremony space for rain insurance.)

Our Luxury High-Top Dinner Tent 

For your reception dinner, we offer a 2400 sq. ft. high-top tent with in-house professional lighting, handmade Amish farm tables and cross-back chairs, optional windowed wall curtains for inclement weather, and tabletop decor including ivory runners, bud vases, table numbers and votive candles. We take your vision to heart, and you can customize however you want to realize your dream wedding.

Our Reception Barn

The Barn serves as the epicenter for your reception and for your entire wedding day. Over 3000 square feet in area, the Barn accommodates the dance floor, hayloft lounges, bar, prep kitchen, buffet tables, wedding cake & dessert hutch, bathrooms, aforementioned Groom's Den, and smoking balcony. The entire interior of the barn retains its original woodwork and showcases our in-house professional lighting, including fairy lights at the floor line, uplights, string lights along the rafters, and a 40" multicolor LED disco ball.

• Dance Floor: The original barn floor has been preserved and refinished, retaining all its rustic character without sacrificing luxury or practicality. The elevated stage for DJs and bands is immediately off the dance floor. There is also ample room for your photo booth, phone booth, and other wedding day extras.

• Hayloft Lounges: The three haylofts have been converted into additional guest space and rainy day insurance. The lofts provide even more seating, bistro tables, and bar & lawn games, and you can add any other activities you would like your guests to enjoy.

• Bar Area: Right off the dance floor, we provide a three-sided bar with custom bistro lighting. The bar comfortably fits three bartenders so no matter the size of your wedding, your guests will never go thirsty.

• Restrooms: We have three indoor restrooms, one of which is wheelchair accessible. They all have heated floors and are tidied throughout your event.

Our Grounds

Spanning 26 acres of lawns, flower beds, and century-old trees, Poplar Hill takes full advantage of its natural setting to give you and your guests countless photo opportunities, places to relax, and ample space & privacy to create your own world on your wedding day. The new front stairs by the main entrance of the mansion is one of many great backdrops for group photos. Our lawn games, swings, and outdoor seating areas contribute to an atmosphere of play and celebration. We have ample parking for 200 guests, a drop-off and pickup loop in front of the mansion, and your guests are more than welcome (even encouraged) to leave their cars and pick them up the next day by noon if they've had a little too much fun.
